The Ottawa-Glandorf Concert Band participated in the OMEA District 3 Large Group Adjudicated Event last Friday and earned a "I" or "Superior" rating, which qualifies them for the State level event in April. This will mark the first time in school history that both the Marching and Concert bands will attend their State level event in the same school year. Congratulations to the band, and go Titans!

A special shout out to Nicole Hovest as we are so proud of her achievements at the SkillsUSA Competition for Cosmetology!
Nicole has excelled within her program on so many levels and has a bright future ahead!

Last night was a great example of how fortunate we have been to have the OG Athletic Boosters and all of the donors who have supported our Stadium Renovation Project. The Lady Titans Softball team was able to get outside for a practice on February 24 to take advantage of a day with temperatures about 10 degrees over the average. An outdoor practice with the ability to get in these types of drills would not have been possible for our teams just a couple of years ago.
The next step is to get the old light towers and lights removed, and the new lights and poles installed this spring after our home track meets. That will bring us to the final phase of our project, which is to renovate the home stands with a new pressbox, improved restrooms, new and desperately needed storage areas under the stadium, and the upgraded sound system. Please continue to support the OG Athletic Boosters through the 12th Fan Campaign, and your generous donations.
THANK YOU OG ATHLETIC BOOSTERS!!!!

Ottawa-Glandorf Local Schools would like to congratulate Dr. Jan Osborn on his recent recognition as he received the ASCD+ISTE 'Making IT Happen' award and jacket.
On February 14, over five hundred teachers, administrators, and support staff gathered at Ottawa-Glandorf High School. As part of our opening session, Mr. Gary Herman announced that Dr. Osborn had recently been informed that he was the recipient of this award. It was extremely fitting to have Dr. Osborn recognized in front of all of the staff from around the county, as he has been an integral part of public education in Putnam County for his entire career, and is a recognized leader locally, regionally, and at the state and national level as well.
The ITIP Ohio IGNITE Award recognizes educators who use technology to help "ignite the fire" in teachers or students. One IGNITE Award will be given away each year to the educator that does just that...IGNITES the fire...SPARKS creativity...and EXCITES learners to think outside the box through meaningful educational technology integration.
The award is open to all K-12 educators (administrators, specialists and classroom teachers) and is connected to the ISTE Making it Happen Award, which provides national recognition of educational technology leaders. The ITIP Ohio IGNITE Award will be presented at the Ohio Educational Technology Conference (OETC) in Columbus in February.
While nominations can touch on accomplishments that occur over the course of a nominee’s career, the primary focus of the nomination should be on the work and accomplishments that occurred during the current and prior school year.
The ITIP Ohio Ignite Award is also connected to the ISTE Making it Happen Award and so he will be recognized at the National ISTE Conference as well.
Dr. Osborn recently announced his retirement as the Putnam County Educational Service Center Superintendent. Jan has been a tireless advocate for all students and public schools in Putnam County for over fifty years, and his exemplary leadership in areas from Special Education to school funding are further examples of why he is so deserving of this recognition.
CONGRATULATIONS DR. OSBORN!!!!
