We have a huge announcement for Glandorf Elementary! Mr. Chris Brown was this years Ohio Soil and Water Teacher of the Year for 2024!
This award highlights Mr. Brown’s outstanding commitment to environmental education and conservation. Over the years, he has gone above and beyond to create meaningful learning opportunities for students, including:
- Successfully applying for grants to support innovative environmental projects and classroom initiatives.
- Providing real-world experiences, such as guiding students in testing the water quality of the Cranberry Creek, giving them firsthand insight into environmental science.
- Founding the Ecolizers Club that empowering students to become active stewards of the environment and leaders in sustainability.
- Encouraging students to share their work and findings by presenting at community organizations, especially with the Solar Eclipse of 2024.
Through his dedication, Mr. Brown has not only inspired students to care deeply about soil and water conservation but also equipped them with the tools to make a tangible difference in the world.
Please join us in honoring and celebrating this well-deserved recognition and for Mr. Brown’s lasting impact on our school, students, and community!

Learning while playing in sand has been a big hit the past few weeks in Dragon Nation! A huge thank you to Bonnie Brooks from the Putnam County Soil and Water Education Department for bringing in an augmented reality sandbox into our main entrance for our students to learn about landforms. Some of our 1st grade students even designed and drew their own maps and then brought their landforms to life. ⛰️ 💜💛⛰️

DOWNTOWN OTTAWA ART INSTALLATION! Congratulations to all who collaborated on this--Amazing job!!! Design Team 7th Graders: Olivia, Anderson, Nora, Emmett, Peyton, Caroline, Miles, Addison K, Lillian, Sydney, Addison F, Connor, Elyse, Carleigh, Ava 8th Graders: Mason, Megan, Mattilyn, Calista, Mallory, Caleb, Brynn Last week was the last week to view the art installation--It was located in the alley across from the Courthouse in downtown Ottawa. Big thank you to Altimate Outdoor Structures, Mrs. Burgei, and Go Ottawa for helping to transform the students' cardboard prototype into a real life installation!
It was every house for itself last Friday at our annual house bobsled races. The crowd was loud and on its feet cheering their house across the finish line! 🛷💜💛🇺🇸
