Congratulations to Brynn Hohenbrink on winning her age category of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Eclipse Video Contest! The prize was 50 pairs of eclipse glasses which Brynn generously donated to the Ottawa Police Department and Putnam County Sheriff. Our law enforcement officers will have these in their vehicles today to make sure everyone can safely view the eclipse. Thanks Brynn! 💜🌒💛

This week we celebrated Wellness Week. Each day we focused on a way to improve our mental and physical health. Wednesday's Eat Well; Be Well theme seemed to be the biggest hit as everyone got to enjoy a yogurt parfait bar for breakfast. Thank you to our cafeteria staff for all their help with breakfast on Wednesday!💜🍓🫐💛

Our awesome science teachers are getting Dragon Nation excited for Monday! 💜🌒💛

Congratulations to Chase Maag, Katelyn Haselman, and Noah Leopold that were selected to participate at the National Civics Bee- Regional Contest last night at OSU Lima. They competed against 20 area candidates. The first two rounds were a live test over civics concepts in which Noah and Katelyn were finalists. They, with four other students, presented their essays and answered questions from judges in front of a live audience. Chase Maag was also interviewed by Hometown Stations before the contest. https://www.hometownstations.com/news/local-middle-schoolers-participate-in-national-civics-bee/article_f4c4e9ca-f231-11ee-8c81-fb71ddd4c74c.html

Dear parents and students:
As of 9:00 p.m. this evening, parts of the following roads in our school district have been reported as underwater to various degrees:
Road I-9
I-14 east and west of 13-I
County Road 15
Road H-13 east and west of Road 14
South Walnut Street south of the river
Second Street west of St. Rt. 65
Maple Street south of 224
Attention families who live near these areas where roads are underwater:
• District bus drivers will do their best to pick-up students on their route for school
tomorrow morning. Please note that drivers will proceed with an abundance of caution, so please have a back-up plan in place to transport your child(ren) to school in the event that the bus driver cannot make it to your house.
Attention student drivers:
• Do NOT attempt to drive through any roads that are submerged in water, no matter
how deep you believe the water to be. Give yourself plenty of time to take an
alternative route to school if needed.
Road conditions will likely change over the course of the next few hours and days, depending on the amount of rain we receive and the predicted crest times of area rivers and creeks. We will keep you updated with any changes to school operations as soon as possible.

Dragon Nation was overflowing with love this afternoon with a house full of grandparents and special visitors! Thank you to all who were able to attend! Thank you also to our amazing music teacher, Mrs. Brown, for putting together a very special K-6 program! 💗💜💛💗

Congratulations to 8th graders Carly Siefker and Collin Stechshulte for being selected to represent Glandorf Elementary at the Ohio Middle Level Association Breakfast of Champions yesterday at the University of Findlay. Dragon Nation is proud of these two outstanding leaders💜💛!

Another shoutout to Mr. Brown and our 7th grade! 💜🌒💛

This past Saturday morning Mr. Brown and a group of our 7th graders went to the Putnam County Library and ran solar eclipse activities. The following image was put together for our FB page by 7th grader Ella Schroeder. 💜🌒 💛

Last Thursday our 6th graders went on a field trip to the Mazza Museum & Conda STEAM Center. They built roller coasters 🎢, watched a planetarium show, and went on a scavenger hunt exploring original artwork from children’s books🖼️. It was a great experience for all. Shout out to one of our own, 🤩Megan Ketner🤩, for helping lead a session. 💜💛
